What my clients say

Men's Counselling

Men’s counselling focuses on the unique challenges they face in a safe and supportive environment while building on healing, developing skills and working through challenges. A variety of therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) can help identify and change negative patterns of thinking and behavior. Another modality such as mindfulness helps men to be more present and aware of their thoughts and feelings or develop greater resilience and well-being. The goal of men’s counselling is to improve wellness by developing the skills and strategies needed to cope with life’s challenges and thrive in their personal and professional lives.

Youth/Adolescent Therapy

Adolescence is a stage of immense change and can be a challenging time for youth who are still developing in their identities and learning skills towards adulthood. Common issues that occur include anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, bullying, relationship problems, school-related stress, behavioral problems, substance abuse, and family conflict.
Therapy is targeted for youth between the ages of 12-18, who are struggling with emotional or behavioral issues. The goal of youth/adolescent therapy is to provide a safe and supportive space for young people to explore their feelings, develop coping strategies, and work towards personal growth and development.

Couples Counselling

Couples Counselling helps individuals in a romantic relationship identify and work through issues that are affecting the quality of their relationship. Gottman Couples Therapy is evidenced-based relationship therapy focusing on building stronger and healthier relationships by improving communication skills, understanding each other’s needs and feelings, and learning how to work through challenges and conflicts in a constructive and respectful manner.

There is a three-part comprehensive assessment process to outline the strengths and challenges of the relationship currently while taking into account the history and moments of building from previous chapters that have occurred. Couples using this method learn how to change negative patterns of communication, deepen their emotional connection, and build a strong sense of shared meaning and purpose in their relationship.

The Sound Relationship House Theory is a model for building and maintaining a healthy and fulfilling relationship. It is based on extensive research and clinical experience working with thousands of couples, and outlines seven essential components of a strong and lasting relationship:

  • Build love maps: understanding your partner’s inner world
  • Share fondness and admiration: expressing affection and appreciation for your partner
  • Turn towards instead of away: actively responding to your partner’s needs and bids for connection
  • The positive perspective: focusing on the good in your partner and the relationship
  • Manage conflict: learning to handle disagreements constructively and with respect
  • Make life dreams come true: supporting and working towards each other’s goals and aspirations
  • Create shared meaning: establishing a sense of purpose and direction for the relationship

The theory emphasizes the importance of cultivating these aspects of the relationship to create a strong foundation for long-term love and connection. With the help of our clinical team, using a therapeutic touch, couples can overcome relationship challenges and build a stronger and more fulfilling life together.
